Billie – Head Teacher
I have worked in the childcare industry for over 15 years as a qualified pre-school teacher. I have prepared and helped graduate many children for school. My passion for teaching children has contributed to creating Early Start; acknowledging each child as an individual learner.
My dream and goals are to support and nurture children; helping them to build confidence and pass on a lifelong love and enjoyment of learning in a fun and supportive environment. The school readiness program is based on fostering positive learning experiences; enabling children to be socially and emotionally ready and having the foundations for starting school.
I am a local hills district mother of two high school boys. My love of teaching literacy evolved through my passion of story telling. I have designed a numeracy curriculum for preschool and understand the importance of including numeracy and literacy into everyday activities.
I hold a current working with children and an Emergency Asthma & Anaphylaxis Management & First Aid Certificate. I have completed numerous courses including:
- Child protection
- Story telling
- Behaviour management (dealing with difficult behaviour)
- Reflective practices
- Mathematical concepts for young children
- Developed a Numeracy curriculum for Pre-school (school readiness)
